Understanding the Challenges

The people we serve face systemic barriers that limit their educational and professional development opportunities:

Economic Barriers: With millions of Nigerian families unable to afford basic school expenses, many youth like 10-year-old Joshua from Lagos are forced to drop out when parents can no longer cover fees, uniforms, and books.

Conflict-Related Displacement: Youth like 13-year-old Terka from Benue State flee violence only to find themselves in internally displaced persons camps with severely limited access to formal education.

Infrastructure Gaps: Rural and underserved urban communities often lack adequate educational facilities, qualified teachers, and learning materials, creating vast disparities in educational quality.

Gender-Based Restrictions: Cultural norms and economic pressures often prioritize boys’ education while young women face increasing barriers as they progress through educational levels.

Why Your Support Matters
